    – svensk lokaltid
    – anläggningarnas väderstreck

    Så här:
    – KTH i Stockholm ligger på ca 18 gr 04’25 Östligt.
    – Gäddeholm vid Västerås ligger på ca 16 gr 39’25 Ö.
    Skillnaden ovan är 124-39 DM, 15 gr/h ==> 1,417 grader ==> ca 7 minuter.

  3. Hej,
I’m very interested in your blog. Nice to read all the different topics!
I have a problem with my solceller. They are sometimes not working (3 times with a lot of sunshine!), and sometimes I hear strange noises at the Stecagrid(the grey box with the inverter). Then the amount of solenergy drops amazingly from t.e. 600 W till 24 W, and after a couple of seconds it rises in one time back till 450 W. In the amount of sunlight is no big change at that moment. The installer could not give me an good explanation. We have the solceller from august last year, so they are quite new, and me too to experience everything. (maybe next time i write in swedish, but for the moment it’s easier in english). Do you, or someone else, have any clue what can be the problem? Thanks for any answer!
    Chris

    • It sounds like your inverter sizing does not correspond to the modules connected to it. The inverter has a certain working range in terms of voltage and current. If the voltage or current is too high the inverter will limit the power output, and in worst case maybe shut off the power output from the inverter. Probably this is what happens in your case.

      • Thank you for your answer. I try to have some clue about the problem, because the electrian is coming tomorrow, but he is not so familiar with solenergy. And to refer to my last comment, is it then not strange that it happened just sometimes. So most times it is working oke. From the company which delivered the solcellen I got the answer that is normal to have that kind of noises because of the transformation from DC to AC. But it is still strange that in general I don’t hear that noise. And specially then the amount of solar-energy drops quite heavenly till almost zero. Thank you if can comment on it!

        • You must do your home lesson, :-). As I indicated in my first answer you must check the dimensioning of your system. Take a look at the datasheets for your modules and your inverter.
          1. What maximum total DC power do your modules have compared to allowed maximum input DC power for the inverter? It is 3200 W for our Sunny Boy 3000TL inverter.
          2. What is your string voltage? Take number of modules in a string * Vmpp (voltage at maximum power point) and compare to recommended input DC voltage range at nominal power for the inverter? 188-440 V for our inverter.
          3. What is your maximum DC current (Isc (short circuit current) * number of strings) compared to the allowed maximum DC current for the inverter? Max 17 A for our inverter.

          • Thank you for your answer. I don’t understand much of it, but probably the electrician will understand…. I will let you know what the result is of his inquiry.

  4. Hello,
Last friday the electrician did check the anslutning, and everything looked oke. I have contact with Solar Design, from which company I bought the solceller. They are now contacting Steca (the productionscompany of the inverter) to see what can be the problem inside the inverter. On saterday it was strange because in the morning (10.00h)we had 1400 W energy from the solceller. (and it was quite moving between 800 and 1400 W. in maybe 10-15 seconds). Strange because we never had such high amount on other sunny days this month, because the sun is still low, and also a little bit behind some trees… so, this is strange again. On other days it looks oke how much energy the solceller produce. So we have to wait what the company of the inverter has to say about this. If I know more I will post it here.
